Dear South Carolina Youth Soccer Participants,
This past weekend, we had reports from all over the State that spectators are creating environments not conducive to the development of players. Including but not limited to:
- Constant communication directed at referees
- That’s a push referee, referee that was a foul, come on ref, oh that’s a pk – the list is endless.
- Constantly telling players what to do with the ball
- Hit it, shoot now, watch 57, press press!!!!
- We should all want players to think for themselves and solve problems – leave them alone. Coaches are responsible for the strategy and challenges given to players!
- Encouragement is needed for players, please cheer them on and be positive about their efforts and actions.
As a reminder:
- We have a zero-tolerance for referee harassment, with a policy that outlines the league wants games to be suspended and/or abandoned if spectators cannot control themselves. Click here to view the policy.
- We also have an animal policy that outlines NO ANIMALS AT SOUTH CAROLINA LEAGUE GAMES. All league matches are instructed to STOP until animals have left the direct vicinity of the match. Click here to view the policy.
Please contribute to an environment that promotes fun, development and belonging for your players, their teammates and their opponents this season.
