The CASC 07 Fury successfully reached the semifinals of the 2023 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup this weekend in Greenville, SC. Building on a strong start with wins over Dallas Surf (NTX), Sporting Arkansas (AR), and North Port Fusion (FL), the Fury were eliminated by Capital City SC (STX) in the semifinal match on Saturday, June 17. Capital City lost to the Lady Lobos (TN) in the final on Sunday.
“We enjoyed representing our club and state in regionals this week,” said Coach Lopez. “We were the only team from SC to reach semi finals and the only SC team to win all the group play games.”
“This a great achievement for one of our teams to get so far,” said Club President David Tunesi. “The Fury had an impressive run and made the club and the state proud.”
The 2023 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup featured boys and girls teams in the 13U through 19U age groups. Both the champions and finalists earned a spot to the 2023 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup July 6-11 in Wichita, Kansas.
