US Soccer and SC Youth Soccer Grassroots Coaching Education Pathway
Below is information on the new US Soccer Grassroots Coaching Education Pathway. The new grassroots education pathway will be implemented across the country starting in January 2018. With the new coaching education pathway, the current F and E license will no longer be taught or be a part of the US Soccer Coaching Education Pathway or Curriculum. The U.S. Soccer YNT Talent Identification Pathway will stay the same, however. It has been praised as of late, with players such as Christian Pulisic, Sergino Dest and Tyler Adams, to name just a few, all making successful breakthroughs recently. This means that any scouting courses and licenses will remain the same.
The four (4) new coaching licenses are as follows:
- 4 vs. 4
- 7 vs. 7
- 9 vs. 9
- 11 vs. 11
The Grassroots Pathway has been introduced to permit easy access/entry points into US Soccer’s Coaching Education Pathway. The new structure will allow a new coach to enter the pathway in two separate ways. The candidate may take the Online (OL) course OR take the In Person (IP) course. US Soccer is no longer requiring one course in order to take another course. This means a candidate does not have to take an OL course before taking the IP course. Each new coach will be required to complete a 20 minute online Foundations of US Soccer Coaching module before being able to proceed to either the OL or IP courses.
The new IP Licenses are four (4) hours each. It contains two (2) hours in the classroom and two (2) hours on the field. All US Soccer courses are set up and administered by the SC Youth Soccer Coaching Education Staff through US Soccer’s Digital Coaching Center (DCC). Each In Person (IP) course will cost $50.00. Online (OL) courses will cost only $25.00.
Starting January 2018 the F license and E license will be discontinued. For current holders of the F and E license, US Soccer and SC Youth Soccer will continue to recognize both as a national license that meets all prerequisites and or coaching license standards. The US Soccer D license will remain in place and will continue to be taught by SC Youth Soccer Coaching Education. The new requirements to take the D license are as follows:
- Hold a US Soccer E License
- 2 in-person courses (one must be the 11 vs. 11 course) + 1 online course (new grassroots or old F License)
SC Youth Soccer is offering one more E license December 15 -17, 2017 at Columbia College.

Myself and my friend were talking about what the best fantasy soccer website was because we both loved to see who could be right! My friend suggested FanDuel and we could not be happier with the service.
